"Fighting Crime is Everyone's Business, Together We Make a Difference"

 

On March 31, 2007, the OCDA Gang Injunction Team, OCDA Government and Community Relations Outreach Team, Anaheim Police, local elected officials, and the other organizations conducted an outreach event at Ponderosa Park, a location of a gang injunction.  Our theme was "Fighting Crime is Everyone's Business, Together We Make a Difference."  We are proud to have made a difference in the lives of the local residents who have been traumatized by the gang activity.  Hundreds of families brought out their children to play and to participate in activities such as face painting, book reading, checking out police equipment including police cars, tactical units, horses, and a helicopter, and receiving free prizes.  Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said on stage to a large applause, "This is our community, not that of any gang."  OCDA Outreach booth handed out useful information involving law enforcement issues to the families.
